Chucky
My first attempt at Carson (the butler) from Downton Abbey.
Charles Carson is my favorite character. If I am able, I would like to draw the entire cast.

New Super Mario Bros. U Misadventures
A few of friends and I get together to play games on Saturday nights. Lately, we've been going through "New Super Mario Bros. U" and I've been doing a few drawings based on our experiences.
My friend Gabe kind of developed a reputation for throwing his fellow gamers (not always intentionally) into the lava.
I developed a reputation for mostly going through levels trapped in a bubble of my own self destruction.
We developed some "Mario Theology" from our friend Matt's attempts (via the Wii U GamePad) to help keep us out of the lava.

A Wonky Jabber
I recently got around to seeing Terry Gilliam's first film (apart from Monty Python) titled "Jabberwocky", which means that I have now see all of his films. It clearly is Gilliam's first movie, mainly because it felt awkwardly put together. The limited budget it was given didn't seem to help much, but the production team and actors did well with what they were given. It does have that Gilliam "charm" to it and I found it entertaining. Even though it was a clunky costume monster, I loved that they pulled-off the Jabberwocky creature at the end (great design)!
What I enjoyed most about this funny little film, were the costumes and wonderful character actors. I did a few quick sketches of the characters I liked most.

ShadowMask
Back in 2001, my friends and I had all recently began our college years. So as a last "hurrah" before life took us our separate ways, we made a little film together. A homage to the black and white "atomic age" films.
We decided to make the ultimate "home movie" and the rules basically were: everything must be provided by items from our homes (camera equipment, props, etc.) and all locations must be in our homes.
We didn't have access to editing equipment, so based on the script, we storyboarded out every shot and sequence. All of our actors had stage experience, so they were great at memorizing lines and rehearsing actions. This was helpful because we filmed every shot in the order you see, rehearsing every angle till we had it right because there were no 2nd takes.
So sit back, relax and hopefully you'll enjoy this fun, silly little production as much as we enjoyed making it.
BTW - I have had some filmmaker friends who have found Shadowmask to be therapeutic at times when they are feeling discouraged about their work.

eBooks Development
Some samples of my development work on Goldilocks and the Three Bear and The Three Little Pigs, two eBooks I illustrated for Nation9 and Amazon.
My initial character designs of Goldi and Papa Bear. This take on Goldilocks was mostly inspired by my daughter.
A background test for a Goldilocks interactive eBook I illustrated. This was to help figure out the color palette and overall "look" to the environments. The bears live in a 1950's lifestyle and everything in their home comes in sets of 3.
A couple of rough character sketches for The Three Little Pigs. I had to draw this book almost 10 times faster then Goldilocks!

3 Piggy Bears
Last spring, I illustrated two interactive eBooks for Nation9. Both are now available on Amazon.com
I provided all the elements, which Nation9 took, adding animation and sound. I'm very pleased with how they turned out! Hopefully the kids will like 'em.
